Karlovy Vary is the closest the Czech Republic has to a glam resort. While the resort was famous across Europe in the 19th century as a health spa, these days the town attracts mostly the day-trippers. You can fill your cup for free at spa points along the way and stroll the main colonnade area and sip on allegedly health-resorting sulphuric compounds from ceramic, spouted drinking cups.

Despite the spa reputation, this town is not entirely welcoming to walk-ins looking for high-end treatments. Services like exotic massages and peelings are available but make advance booking.
