Moravia’s capital city Brno is definitely among our top choices. Tens of thousands of students ensure lively cafe and club scenes that easily rival Prague’s. The museums are great also. If you add in two excellent microbreweries and one of the country’s best restaurants, a couple days stay is a must.

Brno was one of the leading centers of experimental architecture in the early 20th century. Moreover, Unesco-protected Vila Tugendhat is considered a masterwork of Functionalist design.

The tourist information office has lots of material on the city’s rich architectural heritage, including marked-out tours. Besides Špilberk Castle, Cathedral of Sts’ Peter & Paul, underground passages under Cabbage Market, Planetarium, and Technical Museum, there is plenty more to see.
